Francona, Red Sox part ways
The Boston Red Sox and manager Terry Francona have decided to part ways after eight years together.
The Red Sox fell apart in September, blowing a nine-game wild card lead over the Tampa Bay Rays.
Francona had a tremendous run with the Red Sox, winning two World Series and finally ending the Bambino curse.
Rumors are floating around that Francona was actually forced out, but that the team is trying to make things look amicable.
It’s hard to blame Francona for the collapse given the poor starting rotation that he had to work with.
